Often cited as the most embarrassing moment in Academy Awards history, the 1989 Oscars had Rob Lowe take to the stage with Eileen Bowman - the latter dressed as Snow White - for a 10+ minute opening song-and-dance sequence that led to a lawsuit from Disney and a letter being written by countless celebrities denouncing it.

Worst of all, show producer Allan Carr's career never really recovered from the drubbing he took following the show's airing, and he died of cancer a decade later in comparative obscurity.

No matter how much you might cringe at contemporary Oscar routines, nothing gets even close to a squeaky-voiced Snow White and Rob Lowe misguidedly going full ham.
