30 Things You Didn't Know About Tim Burton's Batman
26. Warner Bros. Rushed Out A TERRIBLE Teaser Trailer
As a wave of negative PR surrounded the film, Warner Bros. decided to quickly cobble a teaser trailer together to quell fans' fears, and in recent years that trailer found its way online.
Needless to say, the nonsensical editing choices, semi-random array of footage and utter lack of music indicate just how much of a rush-job the trailer truly was. However, it ultimately seemed to do the job, and Batman of course went to become a major box office smash.
The trailer was so popular that fans were reported to attend screenings of other movies simply to view it and leave before the film itself started, a phenomenon which also recurred with the first trailer for Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace.
