8. Scream, Queen! My Nightmare On Elm Street

In case you weren't aware, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge is something of a cult classic in LGBT circles, given its obviously homoerotic themes and "subtext" - if you can call it that - as best embodied by Mark Patton's uncharacteristically effeminate protagonist Jesse Walsh.

The documentary dives deep into not only the movie itself but also how it changed actor Patton's life, especially releasing as the film did at the height of the '80s AIDS epidemic, and how he's become an inadvertent gay icon in the decades since.

If nothing else, it's a fascinating re-evaluation of a movie many quickly dismiss upon a single viewing.

Scream, Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street is out now on VOD.
