Michael Hagerty will probably be known best as Mr. Treeger, the janitor who learns ballet with Joey on Friends. However, he was a Star Trek alum as well, having appeared in a couple of different roles. First, he was Captain Larg in Redemption Part II. Then, he would return to The Next Generation, though this time his face was much more recognisable. He played Skoran in the seventh season episode Thine Own Self.

It was in this role that he got the most to do, and his distinct style endeared him to audiences - even if he was trying to kill Data. But then, who hasn't tried to off the Android?

Hagerty got his start in acting after being invited to join an improv group by Jim Belushi. He co-wrote and starred in three of their shows during the '80s, before getting into films. His voice and moustache were iconic - there is very little chance that you don't know what this man sounded like.

He was Irish Catholic by birth, and he proposed to his wife on New Year's Eve, in Ireland. He was still working at the time of his death, having a recurring role on Somebody Somewhere. He died at age 67, owing to a seizure, caused be an adverse reaction to medication he was taking for a leg injury.
