If the world stopped turning tomorrow and someone asked if there had been enough Transformers movies, you'd probably happily concede there's been more than enough. But for Paramount, the franchise is on Fast & Furious levels of money-spinning, and it's unlikely we will get to see the end of the series in our lifetimes.

After The Last Knight lands this year, Paramount will mount their turbo-charged expansion plan properly with the first Transformers spin-off, focused on charismatic Autobot Bumblebee, who will no doubt team up with a new side-kick against other Decepticon baddies.

It'll be much of the same thing as the main-line series, which will delight fans as much as it'll annoy cynics, but there's some positivity to be taken from the fact that they've hired Laika's Travis Knight to helm it. He hopefully won't just cow to Michael Bay's slanted camera artistic manifesto.
