16. Venom

Sure, the decision by Sony to make their own Spider-Man spin-offs without the assistance of Kevin Feige, the back-up of the MCU or the presence of Spider-Man might look pretty bold from the outside, but they're going about it the right way by releasing a Venom origin first.

Even more excitingly, the film - which still has no director or lead (even with Zac Efron's deleted April Fool's joke suggesting he was Eddie Brock) - is going to be a sci-fi/horror that hopefully takes leads from Alien and doesn't go to Earth too soon. If you're not down for a monster movie in space starring Spidey's coolest villain, I don't know what to say to you. You're beyond help.

But, please, really don't expect a Spidey cameo. It's not happening.
