35. The Nun

Say what you want about The Conjuring and its sequel, but the lucrative modern horrors did a lot to revive interest in the genre and they gave us James Wan as the director of Aquaman, so there's a lot to appreciate them for.

Doubling down on the brand, The Nun sees The Hallow's Corin Hardy directing a prequel spin-off centred on the bloody terrifying nun, Valak from The Conjuring 2 and starring Alien: Covenant and The Hateful Eight star Demian Bichir.

You know what you're getting in for with these films, and with Wan writing and producing, it's likely we'll see more of the same creepiness and delight for jump scares. It's just a shame it's not out at Halloween.
