40 Must See Films of 2013

3. jOBS (unscheduled)

I have no love for Ashton Kutcher. He's not terribly funny to me and his few attempts at dramatic outings have all fallen flat for me as well. But, when it was announced that he'd be portraying Steve Jobs in a biopic, I had to admit to some genuine curiosity. Kutcher looks like a good physical fit for Jobs, and his lackadaisical smugness seems almost tailor-made for the kind of self-assured ego Jobs emanated. But, I always like it when actors surprise me, and I want Ashton Kutcher to do just that. I want him to give a performance that makes people turn their heads and reexamine the Two and a Half Men star. I sincerely hope the best for this picture, as Steve Jobs is certainly an intriguing and eccentric character that could translate well to the screen, but what I really want to see is Ashton Kutcher giving me some reason to look forward to seeing him in projects that aren't lowest common denominator comedies.
