4. Richard Jenkins
The bottom line: Richard Jenkins is outstanding in all of his pictures. From Flirting With Disaster, to The Visitor, to The Cabin in The Woods, and everything in between. It isnt scientifically proven or anything, but Im almost positive he can pull off any role. I mean, he played a gay cop on acid in Flirting With Disaster. Seriously. Does anything more need to be said? And while that particular role seems to be anything but subtle, a great example of a nuanced performance would be the previously mentioned The Visitor, a film that won him some much deserved recognition. His general on-screen attitude is the perfect mix of melancholy and quirk two things that are much needed in the whimsical world of Wes Anderson.
