5 Awesome 80s Movie Crossovers That Should Have Happened

2. Goonies (1985)/Gremlins (1984)

gooniesgremlins Steven Spielberg was the executive producer on each of these films and Gremlins was even alluded to in the Goonies, when Chunk (Jeff Cohen) was trying to convince the police about the Fratelli's plans and the officer on the other end of the phone reminded Chunk of his previous lies - which included a call regarding little green creatures who multiplied with water. But what if it turned out that Chunk hadn't been lying?! What if little green monsters really did exist in the Goonies universe? Imagine the Goonies defending their houses against a horde of rampaging gremlins? It would be awesome! Data's (Ke Huy Quan) gadgets could be put to full use and Sloth (John Matuszak), having moved in with Chunk and his family, could use some of that superhuman strength he displayed (to hold up that boulder) to kick some serious gremlin ass! There is, of course, the problem of Corey Feldman having starred in both of these films; But a joke could've been made of it in a crossover, with Mouth and Pete either never crossing paths (perhaps just missing each other on numerous occasions), or doing so and looking at each other in complete and utter humorous bewilderment.
