5 Best And 5 Worst Romances In Science Fiction

4. Clark Kent & Lois Lane (Smallville)

smallville_4 Generally speaking, Clark and Lois make a pretty good match for each other. Lois is pretty obviously an integral part of Superman€™s identity, and we could be here all day discussing this particular duo in all their various incarnations, but for the sake of brevity we€™ll focus on just one: the Smallville version. From the moment she debuted in season four, Lois€™ dynamic with Clark quickly became one of the highlights of the show, and a welcome change of pace from all the melodrama that was Lana Lang. It wasn€™t a matter of will-they-won€™t-they this time, it was more like how-will-they. Watching their bond blossom was one of the best parts of the series, especially in later seasons. With Lois€™ arrival, we knew we were one step closer to Clark embracing his destiny as the Man of Steel. How It Ends: Things wrapped too soon, in my opinion. As the interaction between the pair grew from barely concealed disdain to mutual respect and finally to full-fledged I-can't-live-without-you-ness, I would have loved to see more of how their relationship would evolve once Clark was in the cape and the two were partners working for the Daily Planet (which we sort of got to see, albeit briefly). But, at least it ended with the knowledge that everything between them was eventually sorted out, and they do finally get married.
