5 Best And 5 Worst Romances In Science Fiction

3. Dana Scully & Fox Mulder (The X-Files)

x-files-season-3-billboard-600x300 You probably knew this one was coming. The couple that basically embodied the will-they-won€™t-they trope, the nature of their relationship was one of the burning questions throughout the X-Files€™ run, which is saying something, considering that it was a show about aliens and conspiracy theories. What made this pair so great was the polarity of their personalities. Here were two people €“ the skeptic and the believer, the stoic and the (relative) goof €“ who by all counts should not have been able to tolerate each other, let alone love one another. And yet, thrown into increasingly bizarre scenarios and forced to fight their way out together, that€™s exactly what ended up happening. It was like Pride and Prejudice, but with aliens. Also, watching Scully shut down Mulder€™s dry attempts at flirting was pretty funny. How It Ends: It€™s abundantly clear that Scully and Mulder are an item before the series ended. When the second movies picks up a few years later, they end up together, boating off to start a new life together. Was I the only one who thought one of them (Mulder) was going to end up dying or something? Pleasant surprises, all the way around.
