2. Spock & Uhura (Star Trek)
Sometimes, less is more, and in 2009s Star Trek, we got just that, at least when it came to romance. When Uhura shuts down Kirks advances, we at first assume its because hes sort of a douche, but later, when the cadets are given their assignments, is when we see that she's already spoken for. We finally glimpse something between her and Spock when she insists on being assigned to the same ship as his. But at this point it could still be merely a close friendship, a passing fancy, anything, really. But then Vulcan is destroyed, and we get the scene between the two in the lift. Friends dont kiss each other like that. Case closed. This is followed up with the scene before Kirk and Spock beam aboard Neros ship (when her first name is finally confirmed). But, other than these few occurrences (and all the love-y eyes between them throughout the film) we dont know much as to the exact nature of their relationship.
How It Ends: How it began, how far and how long its been going on; there are few details known. And it doesnt matter, because the two make a surprisingly well-made pair. We can tell that Spock adores her (given the speed with which he reassigned her to the Enterprise and the praise he heaps on her) and its obvious that she feels the same way for him (check out that face as he walks onto the bridge at the end). And in the end, thats all that really counts in a relationship, isnt it? Also, with Star Trek: Into Darkness now at the movies, well go ahead and call this one ongoing.
