5 Comic Book Characters Clint Eastwood Should Have Been On Film

3. The Preacher

Jesse Custer was a small town minister in Texas until Genesis, the offspring of an angel and a demon that is basically a being of pure good and pure evil, destroys his whole congregation during a sermon and posses him. Jesse gains the voice of god, a power that allows him to command any one who understands his words. Jesse goes in search for God, who fled heaven when Genesis was born, to basically kick his ass. Sweet. The Preacher is a dark and unflinching take on good and evil through Christian lore, much like Spawn. It is the kind of series that upsets Christians so much they threaten to kill you. So holy of them. ANYWAY. Why would Clint be so damned good? Because he has played a vengeful preacher before, in the somewhat overlooked Pale Rider. Clint has always been a great believer in making the best use of his star persona and typecasting. He often either conforms to expectation and plays the traditional "Clint Eastwood" character or goes in the opposite direction and flips these pre-conceptions on their head. It is was makes Clint such an interesting actor to follow and this is the kind of guy you want in the shoes of Jesse Custer.
