5 Comic Book Movie Villains Who You Actually Felt Sorry For

3. Magneto - X-Men Franchise

If we were in 2000 and had only just seen Magneto through X Men, the average movie goer would not feel sorry for this character. However thanks to the prequels explaining his backstory and origin, we often find ourselves feeling more sorry for Magneto than for Xavier. Erik was a victim of the Holocaust and was forced to watch his own mother die, he knows that humans are not ready to accept mutants, and lets be honest, would we? Imagine the entire plot of X Men is real and thanks to being brainwashed by the media, we would grow to hate mutants. Magneto realises this, where Charles Xavier feels that they can accept mutants eventually. Whilst Charles waits idly by for humans to agree with him on accepting mutants into society, more mutants are being killed or imprisoned by the hands of humans. Magneto knows that deep down all humans have an evil side, and lets be honest, despite being an antagonist of the X Men, is he really a villain? He is doing what he believes to be the right thing, therefore making him a more twisted version of the hero. Ask yourself, if you had witnessed your family murdered, wouldn't you also be a bit pissed off at the killer? Wouldn't you want them to also be dead? Don't kid yourself, of course you would.
