4. Alfonso Cuaron
With a new series about to kick off but continuing the story set up by Nolan; the new director will need continuity to bring in new audiences. So my personal idea would be to start with the Scarecrow once more evading capture and given a much bigger role then he ever had before. Who best to anchor this new, horror filled narrative than the man who gave us the chilling Dementors in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban? His most mainstream movie was stylish, dark and the best of the Harry Potter franchise and I couldnt picture a better opening to Robin John Blakes turn at Batman than a fear toxin fuelled destruction of his mental strength which he eventually overcomes, a nice way to get people on board with this new character.
