4. The Legend of Zelda
While Mario Bros. may be the most well-known Nintendo game, The Legend of Zelda has some of the most die-hard fans around. With all of the games, this one might receive the most backlash from the gaming fans. No matter how good the casting is or how good the movie is, the fans of the game will still believe that a movie shouldn't have been made, and that's fine. The Zelda series has the most potential for a movie franchise. The look of the whole world is amazing and beautiful, and the creatures and characters are all interesting. The Zelda franchise could be a trilogy of movies on its own, let alone be a part of this big universe.
The Cast:
The casting for this one might become the most controversial, among the fans but I think this will work out perfectly on screen. For the lead role of Link, Jamie Campbell Bower would indeed be playing the lead role. He has been in movies like Twilight and Sweeney Todd so he knows what it's like to be in a big movie. Not to mention, the dude looks like a real life Link. I know Link starts off as a child in this movie and there would indeed be a child actor, but I don't know one that could fill those shoes. An auditioning process would have to be done to see the best young Link. For the role of Princess Zelda, that would be Keira Knightley. She is perfect for Zelda. Once again, a young actresses would have to be cast as the child Zelda, but when she grows up Knightley is the best choice around. Ganondorf is without a doubt Ron Pearlman. Pearlman is a big guy and fits the role perfectly. I don't mean for this to sound mean, but he kind of looks like Ganondorf. Directing this feature would be Peter Jackson. The Zelda universe has always resembled the Lord of the Ring universe, to me. The look and colors of the world have always reminded me of Lord of the Rings. Because of this, I feel like Peter Jackson is the best choice to direct this. I think Jackson could take this movie and make it huge. A Legend of Zelda movie with Peter Jackson linked to it could be huge and might make this the highest grossing movie of the universe.
The Plot: Essentially, the plot of the Ocarina of Time video game. There would be a few changes, such as the end. Link would stab Ganondorf with the Master Sword and he would lie there, appearing to be dead. Zelda would not turn Link back into a child. Instead, the movie ends with them going back to the HyruleCastle garden, where they first interacted. After the credits we Ganondorf, who is still alive, talking with a figure we cant see. Ganondorf asks the figure is he did well. To which the figure replies, Very well.
