5 Films That Deserve Sequels And 5 That Deserve Remakes
2. Jumper - Remake

The 2008 movie Jumper had so much promise, but just didn’t stick the landing. However, it had such a brilliant premise, that it deserves a remake. Seriously, who doesn’t want to see a fun action thriller, about people who can teleport anywhere who are being hunted by a mysterious and sinister organisation.
There are so many brilliant stories that could come out of a Jumper remake, as well as some really cool action set pieces. This is especially true now that visual effects have come even further since the films original release, and would allow the teleportation to be used, in more creative and visually interesting ways.
A remake to this film, would however, need to take a few issues into consideration, an example being to expand on the Paladins. Flushing out their motivations, would go a long way to making them much more ominous villains, but the most crucial improvement is general character development.
The originals characters were all very paper thin, and prompted very little emotional investment from the audience.
One way to do this, would be to shift focus entirely to Jamie Bell's character Griffin, as so little was explored of his character. This is a real shame, as he seemed to have the most to give the film. If you made him the focus, you could build the story around him slowly opening up and learning to trust people after being alone for so long, which would make the film a lot more character-driven.
