3. Kingpin (1996)
There will never be a more absurdly satisfying comedy film about the sport of bowling than Kingpin. The real travesty is I'm not sure most realize this was the Farrelly Brothers first mainstream film, before There's Something About Mary. That's right, the tragic tale of Roy Munson, and Ernie McCracken came before the latter that may have made more money, but wasn't nearly as funny in my humble opinion. Where do I begin with what's to love here? Bill Murray is in top form as Mr. McCracken, Woody Harrelson knocks his Roy Munson role out of the park, and Randy Quaid kicks ass as the Amish man turned bowler named Ishmael. Getting to see Bill Murray's dangling hair in all of its Blu-ray glory would be more than worth the price of the upgrade from DVD, among all the other great sights (Ms. Claudia), sounds, and laughs of this classic comedy. Hopefully this film gets the proper treatment in high-def before Ernie's hair starts falling out! If nothing else, I'd imagine there's plenty of extras and behind the scenes footage for the making of this movie that has yet to see the light of day, even on that merit alone, please, someone, get Kingpin on Blu-ray before it's too late!
