5 Genres That Are Dying Out (And 5 That Are Making A Comeback)

1. R-Rated Comic Book Movies

Fans of R-rated comic book movies €“ or R-rated action in general €“ have had it rough the last few years. PG-13 has been the reigning king at the box-office, and comic book movies that logically should have gone for a higher rating - say Ghost Rider - were watered down to appeal to the widest market possible. The last couple of years has seen the winds of change blowing in a bloodier direction, with the likes of Kingsman: The Secret Service, 300: Rise Of An Empire and Deadpool all proving to be huge commercial hits. Deadpool, in particular, is blowing minds in Hollywood, and the large sack of money its accumulated will produce a tidal wave of harder-edged movies. Wolverine 3 is aiming for an R, and a special R-rated cut of Batman V Superman will be available on Blu-ray later in 2016. It wouldn€™t even be a shock if upcoming movies are reshot to make them a little grittier, with Suicide Squad being the most obvious candidate. Can you think of any other genres that have made a comeback recently? Or any that are slowly dying out? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
