5 Good Reasons To Adapt Stephen King's The Dark Tower Series

2. Narrative

Darktower5 The story of the Dark Tower series is vast and filled with the amount of depth you would expect from a writer as prolific as King. I'm not writing this article to spoil anything for people unfamiliar with the source text though so I will cover the broad strokes here. While there is a lot to cover in terms of side story, the main plot is very straightforward when looked at objectively. It is a quest from A to B. Roland seeks the Dark Tower and the books tell the story of this journey. Viewers would find it easy to relate to the tale as it is set out for them from the beginning as any confusing intrigue is secondary to this goal. They should be taken in by the anticipation of adventure and the colourful characters and world they inhabit will only build upon this initial fascination. There is no need to cover absolutely everything King does in his novels; the films should be more focused on the task at hand. People who are interested in the deeper mythology can go back and read the books. Those who don't (I get that some people aren't big readers) will be treated to an epic story that will keep them coming back for more over numerous exciting installments.
