1. Stephen King
What else could the final point be? This man has written stories which have been the basis for some of the most well regarded films of all time (See: The Shawshank Redemption, Stand By Me, The Shining) and although there may have been a few missteps along the way (See: The Mangler, Maximum Overdrive) his name is still enough to get people into seats. With the adaptation of these fantastic books being tossed back and forward without any real resolution in sight, I can only hope that someone will have the good sense to get the ball moving. This series is Stephen King at his literary best and that is truly a force to be reckoned with.
