What a difference a decade makes. After Ben Affleck starred in
Daredevil, fans did not want him anywhere near a superhero film. Now, there are many wishing he will one day direct a superhero film, even for a franchise as prestigious as
Batman. Daredevil deserves a similar comeback, especially now that the movie rights for the character have reverted back to Marvel Studios. Now that Matt Murdock is back home where he belongs, it is the perfect time to have a reboot developed by the people who know the character best. Marvel has been very successful in making its lesser-known characters household names, so there is a valid reason for optimism. To fulfill its quota of two tent pole films per year for Walt Disney Studios, Marvel will need to continue expanding its universe with more characters. If Marvel can't get a solo film ready in time for Phase 3, the studio could opt to introduce Daredevil in
The Avengers 3. Audiences around the world would have the opportunity to get to know and perhaps fall in love with the character prior to getting his own film in Phase 4.
