5 Greatest Ever Alternative Christmas Carol Adaptations

3. The Simpsons, 'Tis The Fifteenth Season (Season 15, Episode 7)

Simpsons Christmas Carol The Simpsons has always been brilliant€ let me start again. The Simpsons was brilliant to watch between 1989 and about 2000, and has always had a great deal of heart when it wants, so you€™d expect their telling of A Christmas Carol to be full of heart and sentimentality. Well, no. Whilst the episode itself is a rather traditional telling of A Christmas Carol- where Homer is spurred on by past greed to become to nicest man in town, much to Ned Flanders€™ chagrin- it is the adaptations within the episode that are brilliant. They€™re just pure funny. First off is a very brief Star Trek Christmas special, then we briefly see Urkel, and of course there is the Christmas special that spurs on Homer to change his ways, Mr. MacGrew€™s Christmas Carol. None are particularly lengthy, but they are fantastic cutaway gags and tie in nicely with a generally top-notch alternative adaptation- a miracle considering this is later Simpsons!
