2. A Blackadder Christmas Carol
This just chucks faithfulness to the novel out the window. This is purely funny, nasty, cynical British comedy. Its not the best Blackadder ever, but its up there. Here we see a nice little twist, where Ebenezer Blackadder is a kind and generous man who is taken advantage of. When a ghost accidentally gets the wrong address- hes supposed to be scaring an old miser- he shows Blackadder his past ancestors, and what the future holds if he stays the way he is. Of course, Blackadder changes into the selfish, nasty man we all know and love. Of course it comes back to bite him, as is want to do, but its a clever twist, with a lot of funny moments including new flashbacks with the Elizabethan and Georgian Blackadders, even if it doesnt quite all gel together. Still, if you want a darker, cynical version of the tale, look no further!
