2. Requiem For A Dream
The way around getting your partner to watch this movie, if said partner is a female, is by dropping the name Jared Leto into conversation as a means of getting her interested or if they are male by mentioning that Marlon Wayans from the ever-so-funny Scary Movie franchise feature in this movie. After that you just have to hope and pray that they manage to make it to the end. Often cited as one of the most depressing movies ever made, Darren Aronofsky's masterpiece storytelling on drug addiction is something that everyone should watch at least once in their life. It shows how far people gripped in a serious habit are willing to go to feed their addiction. I am not saying that you should force this movie onto your partner, but there comes a time in every relationship when a compromise has to happen and each one of you has to sit through something that is going to make them uncomfortable from the start. Even the most hardened of cynics can't help but feel something deep down by the end of this film and hopefully after the arguments have subsided and the anger has passed about being to watch such an honest and hard to bear movie, it will bring the two of you together and just appreciate how lucky you are to have each other with the terrible monkey of addiction on your back constantly trying to break not only your relationship but life down as well.
