5 Huge Godzilla Mistakes That King Of The Monsters Must Avoid

4. Cutting Away During Battle Sequences

It's a necessity of any movie to save the best for last because, at the end of the day, what's the point of building towards something that's never going to get better than where it's currently at? Now, that makes sense and, as a result, it's easy to see why 2014's Godzilla saved its big kaiju battle until the end of the film. However, that didn't stop it from going to a rather frustrating well one too many times.

Godzilla's arrival should have been followed by a battle with the smaller MUTO but, after making us wait quite some time for his debut, the film immediately cut back to Elle and Sam as the two titans clashed off-screen.

As annoying as this was, it was forgivable, because after all, they gotta built that tension, right? However, the same thing would happen again when Godzilla resurfaced for their rematch in San Francisco and when he clashed with the bigger MUTO in the lead-up to the final battle. It became so infuriating that, by the time that the final battle actually rolled around, audiences were just waiting for it cut away again.

Given that the sequel is actually going to focus on some of Godzilla's most famous monsters - not to mention the fact that he, himself, is the king of the freakin' monsters - it would be nice to actually see the huge creatures wage war throughout the film instead of these multiple convenient methods of making audiences wait.
