5 Implausible The Avengers 2 Rumours

3. Ant-Man Will Build Ultron...

Why It's Rumoured: Edgar Wright is attached to the up-and-running production of Ant-Man, whose protagonist creates the evil robot Ultron. Why It's Implausible: Let's just start off with a quote from co-president of Marvel Studios, Mr. Louis D'Esposito on the status of whether or not Ant-Man will even be a Marvel Studios Phase 2 film:
€œI'm not sure, so I can not make a definitive statement. Once we know the more accurate schedule, we will make this announcement publicly.€
So, what does that mean? To put it simply, if at this point they're not even sure if Ant-Man can be a Phase 2 film, and The Avengers 2 already has a May 1, 2015 release date, then how on earth would they be able to incorporate this character into that film, let alone have him start up a new villain that, if point 5 is correct, wouldn't even be introduced as an antagonist until what we could assume to be The Avengers 4? If they wanted to curve-ball fans and bypass Ultron altogether, we could be treated to the Scott Lang interpretation of the character. However, Scott Lang throws off the correlation with Wasp being in an Avengers or Ant-Man movie, but it would somewhat fit in line with Joss Whedon if he wanted to introduce Ms. Marvel at some point. But, since Pym was the subject of this point, that, of course, leads us into the next rumor that Ultron...

Cameron Carpenter is an aspiring screenwriter, current film and journalism student, and self-diagnosed cinephile, which only sounds bad in certain circles. Devoted fan of comics, movies, theater, Jesus Christ, Sidney Lumet, and Peter O'Toole, he sometimes spends too much time on his Scribd and comicbookmovie.com, but doesn't think you're one to judge, devoted reader. You can follow him on Twitter to watch him talk to people you didn't know exist. Oh, and Daredevil is quite the big deal around here (my head).
