Why It's Implausible: Not only were we given quite the tease at the end of
The Avengers with Thanos, but the behind-the-scenes folks haven't been afraid to continue teasing the Mad Titan's involvement in the series:
"We do have plans for him. I wouldnt say we ever feel the need to rush anything one way or the other. We succeeded in Phase One because we stuck to our guns and stuck to the plan. That plan took place over many, many years and it ultimately paid off. I see Phase Two unfolding in the same way of us taking our time, us doing whats right for each individual movie, while folding in elements that will not only build up to the culmination of Phase Two, but even Phase Three. - Kevin Feige
It's also been news that Thanos will not only feature in
The Avengers 2, but would grab some
screen time as the possible antagonist in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy. So, we'll have more set up and a possible team-up of the GotG and the Avengers in
Avengers 2. Possibly. Certainly don't quote me on that. But it doesn't make much sense for Marvel to tease a villain like Thanos just for the
GotG film. And, remember, that their tease certainly employed Thanos with a desire to face humans, so you can put money he'll be duking it out with the likes of Stark, Captain America, Thor, and possibly the Hulk. And there's one other Avenger that people are strangely speculating is in the midst for
