5 Most Hotly Anticipated Films of 1998

3. Small Soldiers

small soldiers Coming just in time to be the first real summer blockbuster this year is Small Soldiers. With amazing special effects created by Stan Winston, Small Soldiers takes the concept of technology becoming too intelligent for our own good and puts it into a much tinier package. Think the concept of Terminator paired with the horror of Child's Play. Small Soldiers will tell the story of a toy company using advanced artificial intelligence chips to make their new action figures come to life in a very big way. Something goes very wrong however and soon enough the Soldier action figures start to cause chaos in Small Town, USA. The heroes of the film will be another line of toy figures who only want to enjoy a peaceful coexistence with humanity. The figures themselves will be brought to life with a mix of computer graphics and live action animatronic creations. All of the toy characters will be voiced by veteran actors such as Tommy Lee Jones, Frank Langella, and Ernest Borgnine just to name a few. The living and breathing cast will be led by SNL alumni Phil Hartman. A role in a major blockbuster like this will no doubt cement the former TV comedian's place in Hollywood for many many years to come. Small Soldiers seems destined to be a classic for kids and adults alike and will be hitting theaters in a big way July 10th!
