The antagonist: Dr. Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina)

What they did: Fitted with robotic arms, Dr. Octopus managed to kill hospital personnel; kidnapped Mary Jane Watson; tried to kill a train full of civilians.

Why this is justifiable: Doc Ock thinks intelligence is a gift that should be used to benefit the world. He pretty much dedicates his life to harnessing fusion energy and wants to see it to completion because he sees how useful it can be to the world. When one of his experiments goes wrong, his wife is killed and the safeguard that was prevents his robotic arms from taking over his brain is broken in the process. So of course he is going to become a troubled person after all of that trauma.

He suffered a huge loss and because of that, will do anything in his power to see his project to completion so that his wife€™s death will not be in vain. He doesn€™t do evil for the sake of being evil, he has a goal that he wants to accomplish that really could help out the entire population. He just goes about it the wrong way.
