5 Movies-Within-Movies We NEED To See (And 5 That Would Suck)
1. We Wish We Could Watch: Angels with Filthy Souls from Home Alone
Never has a movie-within-a-movie had such as cultural legacy as Angels With Filthy Souls, the violent gangster film featured in the successful holiday hit, Home Alone. And, while not all will know its admittedly obscure name, almost everyone will be able to quote its most famous line of dialogue.
Arguably the most memorable line of the entire film, "Keep the change ya filthy animal" can be seen on countless posters, Christmas jumpers, and even doormats.
Featuring such iconic dialogue, the entire film, one can assume, is surely equally entertaining. While we only see very short snippets of this black-and-white gangster movie, this fake films leaves an undeniable impression on its audience, and, to this day, some still believe that Angels with Filthy Souls is actually real.
Presumably inspired by the slew of excellent gangster flicks released in the 1930s, including The Public Enemy and Scarface, Angels with Filthy Souls is eerily accurate. Nailing the over-dramatic acting and over-the-top violence typically found in gangster movies, this is one film we really wish we could catch at the cinema.
