5. Batman/Superman
Let us start with what probably was the first movie that comes to mind when we have open floors for such a topic. It's hard to argue with anyone why this movie should not be made. Batman and Superman finally meeting up will be a box office hit, and the fanboys will go crazy every step of the wayalthough we just ignore the concept that Superman can lift buildings and stop bullets with his chest...and Batman has a grappling hook, can't fly, and gets stab on a regular basis, so the fight is hardly even. But I digress from the point. Batman/Superman was met with much enthusiasm from both hardcore and casual fans, as the mash-up hopes to follow up in the likes of The Avengers. However, there was the casting announcement of Ben Affleck as Batman. Rivers flowed through the streets as self-proclaimed "geeks" cried at the reveal. So much hate was released in Facebook posts, one after another. The opinions of people that executives do not care to hear filled the air like an out of tuned symphony of screeching cats and rusty chain saws. In the end, most people know that Ben is going to do a great job. It's just hard to see coming off of a substandard Man of Steel (depending on who you ask), a Batman trilogy that nerds literally make love to in the middle of the night, and a not-so-good history of Affleck in a hero's costume. Most of these complaints are of the extreme stubborn and hard-headed who have no idea why they dislike Ben Affleck; they just know to follow the person with the loudest shout. So will any of this stop people from going to see the next Batman/Superman film? Hell no. Those people will be first in line as they watch the Oscar winner put on what we hope should be an awesome performance. Although we can't say much for the prospects of the actual film, we know that if they announced a cow as Batman, people will buy the ticket anyway. Just like the response to Heath Ledger as Joker, it may turn out to be a performance to remember. Groan and moan all you want, when push comes to shove, everyone and their mother is seeing this one.
