5 New Characters We're Excited To See In Sin City: A Dame To Kill For

2. Johnny (Joseph Gordon-Levitt)

Leading the charge in one of the film's two new original yarns, "The Long Bad Night," is the ever-popular Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Though we're still kind of amazed the "long-haired kid" from 3rd Rock From the Sun has now essentially become a household name, Gordon-Levitt has more than proven that he's capable of both leading films as well as holding his own against other heavyweight actors, with roles in The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Looper and (500) Days of Summer being a few of his most well-known recent turns. Playing the role of Johnny, Gordon-Levitt is going to be standing alongside series protagonists like Dwight, Marv and Hartigan. Since both Johnny and his story are completely fresh and freed up from the source material, the tale could go anywhere and do anything and we're thrilled to see it all play out. With the villainous Senator Roark in the mix and support from Christopher Lloyd -- yes, Doc Brown himself -- Johnny's already bound to have a very interesting time in Basin City. How and if "Bad Night" intersects with any of the other stories, particularly the other new, Nancy-driven tale, is up in the air, but no matter what happens, we're certain Gordon-Levitt will make his mark in a film already stuffed with great actors.
