Typically, prior to the announcement about Ultron being the villain in the Avengers sequel, it was the general consensus amongst comic book fans that the robot creation of Hank Pym would be the ideal villain in an Ant-Man movie. Now that he's being used as the big bad in the aforementioned Age of Ultron, it begs the question of who will actually be Ant-Man's debut movie rogue? His individual rogue gallery is hardly jam-packed with big name villains, but there are still some good options to choose from for Pym to go up against. This article will look in to five realistic possibilities on that front. Here are five possible villains for an Ant-Man movie (given that it won't be Ultron)...
5. Generic Street Criminals
Ant-Man might be one of the few comic book heroes for whom generic, every day villains would suffice in his debut movie. Hank Pym, in his Ant-Man form, utilises an ability (shrinking to the size of an ant) that could leave him extremely vulnerable if he uses it against a super-powered opponent prior to extensive testing on generic flunkies. For a hero the size of an ant, defeating any opponent of full human size would be an impressive achievement (especially when he's just starting out), so Pym would lose no relevance as a character if he was to embark on his live action hero career taking out common criminals. In the comic books, it was actually these kind of ventures that Pym began with and it brought him to the attention of a number of supervillains (who then tried to actively seek him out to kill him before he got to them - which could make for an interesting sequel or second half of the movie).
