5 Potential X-Men Movies To Follow Apocalypse

4. The Wolverine Sequel

Talent attached: Hugh Jackman and James Mangold The announcement of this came as quite a surprise- but then again, so did the announcement that Sam Mendes was returning for Bond 24. As enjoyable as The Wolverine was, one would imagine that was the end of solo outings for Wolverine before he presumable bows out in Days Of Future Past. But you can't keep a good Canadian down, and if all goes well it seems that Logan will be unsheathing his claws once more. What exactly could happen here? What storyline might it be inspired by? Jackman, a dedicated and passionate professional, seems forever in pursuit of a definitive Wolverine film. And it could be argued that he still hasn't found it yet. Perhaps the reason he's agreed to this third solo outing is because he's found it and is developing it right now. Or more likely, he wants to give it one more shot before hanging up the mutton chops for good. Then again, we might all be surprised and find that Mangold walks at some point and Darren Aronofsky agrees to take over- unlikely, but you never know... Perhaps Wolverine should be killed off here, and laid to rest until an inevitable reboot of the whole universe further down the line. This should be the defining Wolverine story, a fitting end to Jackman's time in the role, and the final part of Wolverine's chapter for a while. Likelihood (out of 5): 4
