5 Potential X-Men Movies To Follow Apocalypse

3. A Third First Class film

Talent attached: Presumably James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult What storyline might they loosely follow? X-Statix, where the team are introduced to X-Force in another weird time-travel episode? The Tomorrow People? Second Coming? Or maybe, just maybe, a massively rejigged adaptation of House Of M. Could this threequel become a possible crossover with the rebooted Fantastic Four? Assuming this is released after Apocalypse in, say, 2018 or 2019, then we would have at least had 2 Fantastic Four films for an audience to get used to. It would certainly tie in with the 'shared universe' being overseen by Mark Millar at the moment. We'd have an established-enough Fantastic Four team, and enough time would have passed between this and Apocalypse for people to miss the team and want to see them in another adventure. And if we're going on the fact that First Class was set in 1962 and Days Of Future Past in 1973, then that mean we might just see this one set in the 80's. Imagine it- McAvoy's Xavier would have lost his hair; Magneto would actually be an enemy now since the breakup with Xavier was shown in First Class and Days Of Future Past has them forced to team up- maybe inspiration might be taken from Mark Millar's own Magneto storyline Return Of The King (no, not that one...) The whole show could get really weird, perhaps akin to the critically-acclaimed run of the Animated Series? This could be a nutso entry, and perhaps more exciting than another Wolverine Movie or an attempt to introduce another X-Team, as we finally see events unfold that would lead nicely into the first X-Men, such as the arrival of Cyclops and Jean Grey. But the producers are more likely to round out Wolverine's arc, set themselves up for a new arm of the franchise with X Force, and want to leave enough time between X-Men sequels for people to really anticipate the original team coming back together. Which would also be stretching out the multi-picture deals that McAvoy, Fassbender, Lawrence and Hoult has presumably signed. It would make sense for X-Men 5/First Class 3/ Whatever-the-hell-it's-called to be put on the backburner for a while, rather than following Apocalypse so quickly. Likelihood (out of 5): 3
