Originally touted as a heavy Oscar contender for 2013, The Monuments Men unfortunately was unable to pass post-production, resulting in a sad delay to February. Thats also an act that should be commended though; its not every day you see a studio come to terms with a film not being ready, and delaying it. The tough decision effectively kicked the film out of Oscar season for both 2013 and 2014 considering most early releases arent taken into consideration just to ensure it is the best it can be. Hopefully with that extra production time, George Clooney is able to hone his vision of unlikely heroes heading undercover into World War 2 to rescue precious artifacts from Hitler's destructive grasp. It certainly looks like an engaging film with a comedic edge, and definitely worth watching. Featuring a stacked cast of Clooney himself, Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin, and Bill Murray, The Monuments Men is set to resemble Oceans Eleven set in the backdrop of World War 2.
