Whether you think its poised to insult the original in every conceivable way or are impressed by the new jet-black suit, whether youre furious or indifferent towards the PG-13 rating; for better or worse RoboCop is the must-see film of February. Even though Hollywood is probably modernising a property that should stay left untouched, its very challenging not to be curious as to how this one will turn out. Lets also not forget that the movie also has both Samuel L. Jackson and Gary Oldman sharing the screen together. Thats an event worthy of marking on a calendar in itself. If nothing else, its certainly the movie to go see in hopes of getting a taste of some more extremely high budgeted Hollywood action, and to ease the wait for bigger and better things. In an absolute best case scenario, the filmmakers defy all odds and give us an action packed thrill-ride with the sharp social subtext of Paul Verhoevens original masterpiece, and at worst we get some lame movie about a government putting a man in a machine for their benefit. Whatever happens, the action sequences should definitely excite audiences craving the first real blockbuster of 2014. Are you excited for any of these February film releases?
