5 Reasons Dirty Harry 6 Is Still A Good Idea

2. The World Needs Dirty Harry

crime-movies-dirty-harry-callahan-clint-eastwood-via-theedgeoftheframe When the original Dirty Harry was made it was meant as a statement. Society was becoming more and more concerned with civil rights when it came to crimes. This wasn't the problem however. The problem was that society was beginning to side more with the rights of criminals than victims. The character of Dirty Harry was meant as a response to the government bureaucracy that seemed to be leaving common sense behind. Dirty Harry provided a real constant for society. Here was a man that was little more than a dinosaur clinging onto ideas that were out of touch with modern day. Still, he clung onto his sense of justice and attempted to shape the world the way he saw fit and we were all the better for it. People responded. A character like Dirty Harry works best when the world is in chaos...and the world is always in chaos. He's a character his superiors see as a loose cannon, but he's really a man built of principles and he doesn't waiver from those principles or his dedication to the undeserving victims of awful crime. In today's world of bitterness and constant bickering, a character like Dirty Harry is just what people need. He's a dedicated man with old school tendencies that we can all learn from in our own ways.
