5 Reasons Indiana Jones 5 Should NOT Be Made (And 5 Reasons It Should)

9. Indiana Jones And The Last Chance Saloon (Should)

Indiana Jones Harrison Ford
Paramount Pictures

Indiana Jones 5 could very well be the last chance for Indy fans to see the world-weary tomb raider in action. He's been with us since 1981, that's nearly forty years of adventures - the only other guy who's still beating up the bad guys with a similar life-span is James Bond. Nothing wrong with that but there's one fundamental difference between the two - Bond has regenerated multiple times and has had relative success keeping up with the times.

Where Bond has many faces, there will only ever be one Dr. Jones. The part is literally tailored to fit him, and yes, Ford is a million years old but some roles will always be synonymous with the actor who plays them, just look how Solo turned out. Ford is Jones and Jones is Ford, all the behind-the-scenes documentaries on Indiana Jones make that all too apparent.

The trouble is, most fans believe that Indy has one last adventure left in him and the Mouse House is inclined to agree. Films of this type are basically massive business ventures, however, it's the fans that pay the price of admission and the studios that pay the price for failure.

We've all seen what can happen when a franchise suffers from a lack of due care and attention, so this is it folks - the last chance saloon for Indy. He deserves a crack one last time, to go out on a high and hopefully wash off the stink of the fourth movie, so let's hope it's a worthy one.
