5 Reasons Ryan Gosling Should Be Cast As Batman In New Movie

1. Gosling Is A Romantic Badass

If you merge the two sides of Gosling€™s career, the soft romantic side with the more violent and stylised side, then what you get is essentially Bruce Wayne. You will see an aggressive and conflicted human being, unable to show his emotion at times, but at his very core cares deeply for those around him. This is something Christian Bale achieved to perfection, and it is what made Nolan€™s trilogy tick. If Snyder casts a bland actor in this role, there is a danger that his visual creativity €“ while admittedly quite stunning€“ will suffocate the audience to tears of boredom. Gosling is the right choice to prevent this, for his acting style inevitably brings a kind of uneasiness with it. We will inevitably wonder which version of Gosling will appear. I think that this is the sign of a very talented actor. And remember, it was this kind of acting ability that a certain Heath Ledger possessed, but was only really recognized for it after being stretched by his role as the Joker. It would seem then, that through the films of Drive and The Place Beyond the Pines, Ryan Gosling has matured enough as an actor to take on the cape, cowl and legacy from Christian Bale. I wasn't going to end with what has become a cliché in blogging about Batman films, but I couldn't resist: Ryan Gosling might not be the Batman we need right now, but he is definitely the one we deserve. As for the bookies€™ choice, it seems that they somewhat agree with me, offering Gosling at 10-1; 3/1 Joseph Gordon-Levitt 10/1 Ryan Gosling 10/1 Chris Pine 10/1 Jake Gyllenhaal 11/1 Channing Tatum 12/1 Christian Bale 12/1 Sam Worthington 12/1 Garrett Hedlund 14/1 Bradley Cooper 14/1 Armie Hammer 14/1 Luke Evans 16/1 Josh Brolin 16/1 Michael C. Hall 18/1 Jon Hamm 18/1 Matt Bomer 20/1 Gerard Butler 20/1 Karl Urban 25/1 Michael Fassbender 25/1 Benjamin Walker 25/1 Liam Hemsworth 33/1 Anthony Mackie 33/1 Alex O'Loughlin 33/1 Josh Halloway 40/1 David Boreanaz 40/1 Brad Pitt 40/1 Tom Cruise 100/1 Hugh Jackman In my own sad little world, It'd be fun to have David Boreanaz (massive Angel fan right here), but I significantly doubt Snyder and Goyer would go there. But seriously, that man can brood!
