5 Reasons To Be Excited For Jurassic World

4. Michael Giacchino

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7cqb73w5RI One of the most iconic things about the series as a whole is the primary elegant theme by John Williams. Easily recognizable, instantly memorable and forever a part of the franchise's identity, chances are it's popped into your head at some point since you started reading this article. Williams went on to provide a great, suitably darker score for The Lost World before Don Davis took the series' sound down a much lighter -- if still entertaining -- path in Jurassic Park III. Even as new themes for characters, settings and moments have found their way into the series across the three films, the primary theme has continued to remain in some form and it seems inevitable that, as Jurassic World takes a soft reset approach to the series in several other ways, the theme will linger on. Enter Michael Giacchino, who has perpetually received acclaim for his work in films like Up and The Incredibles, video games like the Medal of Honor series and television like Lost. He even has prior cred working in the Jurassic Park franchise, having provided the score for 1999's fighting game Warpath: Jurassic Park. Across many platforms, Giacchino has proved himself as an excellent composer and garnered himself quite a fan following. While having not (yet) crafted the type of iconic legacy that Williams has made in film history -- who has? -- Giacchino's taking of the reins is something to be excited about, as he will surely provide his own enjoyable stamp on the series with the introduction of new themes while being able to recognize and honor the importance of Williams' legendary contribution.
