5 Reasons To Be Excited For The Amazing Spider-Man 2

3. Cross-Species Genetics

One thing that always bothered me about Raimi's Spider-Man is how he expected us to believe that some lab spider bites Peter on the neck and gives him superpowers in the same week that Norman Osborn injects himself with a completely different kind of science-y serum to become the Green Goblin. In The Amazing Spider-Man, things are a little more sensible: The same Oscorp serum that Peter's dad had been working on for years creates Spidey AND the Lizard. This idea of cross-species genetics could be the go-to answer for several other Spidey villains such as Rhino, Chameleon, Scorpion, Vulture€well, you get the idea. The only downside to this is that if they go about it the wrong way it could get real old, like Iron Man's baddies group. Seriously, Ivan Vanko was just Obadiah Stane with a Russian accent.
