Watching the world mourn Captain America, or deal with the disappearance of Iron Man will be something that both enriches the world-building of the MCU, adds meaning to their efforts as Avengers, and gives something the new team to live up to.

Their loss adds an additional layer of depth to the MCU and its inhabitants, and real loss is rarely something that these characters have had to cope with before.
