1. It's The Age Of The Superhero Movie
Now, the Mask may not be a superhero in what we've come to consider as 'the traditional sense' (he's not patrolling cities in Lycra or flying around at the speed of light - and he's pretty damn violent at first), but he is indeed a hero - a mischievous one, but a hero nonetheless. Recently, we've had a positive surge in the number of movies with heroic male protagonists, ranging from the traditional iconic superhero archtype (the likes of Spider-Man, Superman, Thor, Green Lantern, Hulk and Batman) to all kinds of other heroic and anti-heroic males (the likes of Conan the Barbarian, Wolverine, Ghost Rider, Blade, Punisher and Jack Reacher), and there are many more on the way. Could Stanley Ipkiss fit in? Why the hell not. I think now is the ideal time for another Mask movie to flourish with the viewing masses. Exploit the trend, Hollywood! And now for the one reason a Mask reboot could suck...
