4. Dino-Riders
If M.A.S.K was Transformers meets Top Gun meets the Fast and the Furious, then Dino-Riders was M.A.S.K meets Jurassic Park. We've seen dinosaurs on-screen plenty of times - and we know that they can look superb with a big budget - but what we haven't seen is dinosaurs armed with futuristic weaponry and ridden by humans and aliens blasting the absolute hell out of each other! That is essentially the premise of
Dino-Riders. The good guys - the Valorians - were a peaceful race that had lived in harmony until the evil alien guys - the Rulons - turned up and attacked them. The Valorians tried to escape from the Rulons by using their 'Space Time Energy Projector' (S.T.E.P) to do so, but something went wrong and they ended up being sent back through time to the age of the dinosaurs. Unbeknownst to them, the Rulons - in their 'Dreadlock' space-craft were also sent back through time when the S.T.E.P was activated. On this prehistoric Earth, the Valorians - led by Questar - use their 'AMP necklaces' to telepathically communicate with the dinosaurs they come across and befriend them. The Rulons, however - led by their leader Krulos - use brainwashing devices known as 'brain-boxes' to control dinosaurs for their own means. Both sides equip their respective dinosaurs with futuristic weaponry and are good to go. The Rulons then launched an attack on the Valorians, who call upon their dinosaur friends to assist them in fighting back. It was a really unique idea that combines the best elements of so many other franchises. On screen, it could be - quite literally - absolutely epic.
