No offence, Bat-fans, but anyone with even a modicum of common sense knows that Superman should be beating the dark knight in a fight, whether Batman gets his hands on Kryptonite or not. That said, the nature of fiction means that it's very rarely so straightforward in the comic books or animated series when the two heroes battle each other - but only because the writers need to make things interesting (it would hardly make for great reading or viewing if Superman simply blew Batman in to space with his super-breath the moment they started fighting, for example...). Again, that will no doubt be the case when the two face-off in their 2015 movie, which so many people are excited about (including myself, to be fair), despite the fact that Superman should take Batman down with ease. But let's be honest, the only reason that Batman is ever placed in Superman's league is because of his popularity - not because he should genuinely pose a threat to the man of steel - and there are a number of heroes who are far more suited to Superman's power level and who would genuinely make for a more interesting battle with the Kryptonian when it got down to business. So, for this article, I'll be looking at five DC heroes that we'd realistically prefer to see Superman fighting against in a movie (if we're being honest and actually wanting him to face a genuine challenge)...
