5 Things That Definitely Won't Be In X-Men: Apocalypse
1. Cable
947361Cable is easily one of the most complicated X-characters to introduce into the film universe - which is a shame, really, as he plays a major part in the Apocalypse mythology.
The way the story goes, Apocalypse hibernated for millennia, waiting for the perfect time to begin his conquest of the world. The arrival of Cable, his time-traveling nemesis, rouses him, and from there, he begins recruiting his Four Horsemen.
Cable is a grizzled time-traveling warrior, as well as Cyclops' son from the future. In the original story, Apocalypse sought out Cable when the latter was still an infant, infecting him with something called the Techno-Organic Virus.
In order to save him, Cyclops and a recently-deceased-then-resurrected Jean Grey (comics, right?) send him to the future for treatment, where he grows into the very man whose existence Apocalypse sought to prevent.
Way to go.
As one might be able to glean from this very abridged summary, Cable's life is something that needs a lot of pieces to set up for maximum emotional impact, and could very well be a movie in its own right.
So it's safe to say Singer won't include the time traveler's part in all this, if only because his exceedingly-complex history would tip this already-crowded film over the edge.
