5 Things That Need To Happen In Kong: Skull Island
1. Kong Connecting To The Human Cast
Kong needs to have a connection to the human cast, and while traditionally, it's just been with one woman, this could be expanded on. And of course, it also needs to be a reciprocated connection. Going back to the 1933 film, Kong had a fascination with one human character, Ann, and she spent the majority of the movie screaming at the top of her lungs.
Peter Jackson's 2005 King Kong did a much better job of having the human characters connect with Kong in different ways, and that's how it should be done. Kong having varied relationships with the rest of the cast fleshes him out as a character, and if this happens, Kong will be more than just a CGI ape on screen.
The traditional monster falls in love with a girl might not be as doable in this version. This new Kong is one of the largest versions of the character that has ever existed, and he's going to need to interact with the other characters in new ways that we may not have seen before.
If the filmmakers can make the characters and audiences root for Kong, the movie will be celebrated.
